Keynote Speakers

"Operational Stability of the Internet"
Kurt Erik Lindqvist, Stockholm

Kurt Krik Lindqvist, known more as Kurtis, is the CEO of Netnod (which establishes and operates National Internet Exchange Points in Sweden), based in Stockholm. He is indirectly responsible for much of stability of Internet in Europe, through his current position and also through involvement at RIPE and NordNOG. Kurtis is also one of the key member of the IETF IPv6 working group.

At IT Conference / SANOG he will also do a tutorial on IPv6 - the next generation Internet protocol.

"Future of IP Addressing"
Paul Vixie, Internet Software Consortium (ISC), Principal author of BIND,

Paul Vixie, DNS guru, known more as the 'father of BIND' is a very well known name in the Internet World. Paul is the principal author of BIND, that runs most DNS servers on the Internet. His expertise on DNS and internet naming is ultimate in the area. He is also responsible for the operation of the F-Root-Server.

At IT Conference / SANOG, he will do a tutorial on DNS and DNS security. He is also a panelist in the session on SPAM.

Philip Smith, PhD,
Cisco Systems, Australia
Philip Smith, is the member of the CTO consulting group at Cisco. He worked for UUNET for 5 years before moving to Australia to work with Cisco. He is one of the co-designers of Cisco's "ISP Routing Workshops" and has authored two books on Internet Routing and Protocols. He is also the chair of the Asia Pacific Operators Forum, and sits on the board of various Asia Pacific Internet Bodies.

At IT Conference / SANOG, Philip will be doing the BGP Multihoming and IXP peering tutorial, and also meeting ISPs to address their routing issues.

Chris Liljenstople
Chris is the chief scientist at Cable and Wireless, one of the largest carriers in the world. He has more than a decade experience in data networks. His position at Cable & Wireless makes him the lead architect for about 1/3 of the entire Internet backbone

At IT Conference / SANOG he will be presenting issues on the Internet Backbone.

Robert Raszuk.
Cisco Systems
Robert Raszuk in currently a part of the IOS Development Engineering - Deployment & Architecture Team in Cisco Systems. He has over 12 years experience in the computer networking industry, for the last 6 years focusing on Core IP routing and MPLS technology. Currently he helps worldwide networks to deploy newest MPLS applications and contributes to the protocol's architectures and new standardization to accommodate customers' requirements. He is an active contributor and co-author of a number of IETF drafts.

At the IT Conference / SANOG he will deliver a tutorial on "Advanced Routing Concepts and Developments"

Ritesh Raj Joshi

Has been using Linux / open source in all the major operations since the 1995. Presently managing the master name server for NP ccTLD. Managing the most popular news portal of Nepal: www.nepalnews.com Has designed/deployed LAN/WAN and Internet/Intranet infrastructure for several ISPs and corporations using heterogeneous platforms like Unix, Linux, Windows. Has been providing in-house technical training to staff; conducting basic/advanced Internet services training for end-users and organizations; holding technical seminars during various IT shows.

Member of the IT Conference 2003/SANOG 1 Program Committee.

He will be doing the "Network Security Tools and applications" tutorial.

Rajesh Shakya
Rajesh Shakya is the CEO of Hi Tech Valley, a software exports company based in Kathmandu.

He will do the XML tutorial at the IT Conference.

Alexei Colisnicenco
Alexei Colisnicenco is Network Consulting Engineer with Cisco in Germany. He has a long working experience with ISPs.

At the IT conference / SANOG he will be doing the tutorials on MPLS, and QoS in ISP Networks.

Deepak Rauniyar
Deepak completed his ME in Computer Engineering with speciality in distributing computing security and cryptography from Australia. He heads the security cell at the Computer Association of Nepal.

He will be doing the tutorial on Distributed Network Security.

Suman Basnet
Suman Basnet is a documentary film maker / editor. He has been using computer based non-linear editing tools for more than five years.

Suman will do a tutorial on "Computer aided Film Editing" at the conference.
